It’s been more than two years since Paramount bought the rights to make a movie based on Anna Todd‘s popular fan-fiction After. This story caused a sudden and enormous growth of Indiana’s fandom, since Todd always pictured her as the narrator and main character of it, named Tessa. Most of her readers accepted this choice and have been hoping for Indiana to actually play Tessa’s part in After’s adaptation.
We have recently learned that Indiana knows about the project and about Todd’s and the fandom’s wishes, but has remained silent about whether or not she would portray Tessa. Below you can watch a video in which Todd confirms that Indiana “is very happy about [Todd wanting her to be Tessa]”, which leaves us with three options: either she’s been having doubts about accepting the role and hasn’t decided yet, or she already said no, or she already said yes but Paramount is waiting to make the big announcement.
Playing Tessa in After is definitely the big role Indiana needs to take if she wants her career to blossom. We would understand if she declined the offer though, since these kind of projects can bring a lot of joy, but also trouble to the actors involved (see Dakota Johnson and Kristen Stewart, from 50 shades and Twilight).
After movie’s script has been ready since late 2015 and Daniel Sharman was confirmed to play Hardin, Tessa’s love interest, a while ago.
It’s been months since we last had news from Indi, and there’s nothing we’d like more than for her to get some new roles. heartindiana will keep you informed!
